Pastor Jorge Garcia was born in Brooklyn, NY.  At the age of 9, he and his family moved to Peru.  At age 16, he started drinking and doing drugs.  Years of abuse and sin led him to desperation and despair.  At age 23 he decided that life was no longer worth living.  As he was contemplating suicide, his sister invited him to attend an evening mass.  As he sat in the service, he cried out to God for help.  As he was looking at a statue of the risen Christ at the front of the church, he had a vision in which the statue became real.  Jesus crossed His arms and looked at him and said, "Jorgie, come."  When he heard those words he told Jesus that if He would help him, that he would serve Him and help bring others out of bondage to serve Jesus.

After 16 years of living in Peru, the Lord led him to return to the states.  He settled in Shelton, CT and was involved in a Charismatic Catholic prayer meeting for several years where he learned to play the guitar and lead worship.

In 2000, he answered the call to become a pastor.  He was ordained by an Assemblies of God Pastor/President from San Paulo, Brazil.  In August 2001, Flowing Spirit Ministries moved to Shelton, CT where they meet at 472 River Road at the River Road Plaza.

Pastor Jorge has a heart for his church to be an outreach center that affects the culture of today, especially in "the valley" of Connecticut.  He also has a strong desire to bring unity within the body of Christ, a unity that transcends denominational borders.  As Jesus saved him and delivered him, Pastor Jorge continues to touch other's lives with the delivering and saving power he experienced many years ago.

Pastor Jorge lives in West Haven with his wife Lydia and his sons Justin and Joshua.
